NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. OPEN TO LEGAL RESIDENTS OF TEXAS WHO ARE 21 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER AT THE TIME OF ENTRY. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW.

CLOSING DATE TO SUBMIT ENTRIES IS 11:59 PM CST ON JUNE 1, 2021.

This Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Instagram, or any other social network platform. You understand that you are providing your information to Contest Entities, and not to Instagram, or any other social network or platform. 

ELIGIBILITY: The Contest is open only to legal residents of the State of Texas who are 21 years of age or older as of the date of entry, and who have a valid Instagram account. The Contest is void outside of the state of Texas. Note that employees, officers and directors of Pabst Brewing Company, LLC (“Sponsor”), their parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, Contest judges, advertising and promotion agencies (aforementioned individuals and organizations (collectively, “Contest Entities”), alcoholic beverage wholesalers, and the immediate family members (spouses and siblings, children and parents and their spouses, regardless of where they live) or members of the same households (whether related or not) of such individuals are not eligible. Retail license holders and their officers, directors, and their immediate family members are also not eligible. Sponsor reserves the right to terminate, modify or suspend this Contest, to disqualify any participant or potential prize recipient, or to withhold prizes of monetary value, in its sole discretion, at any time, and with no liability, if Sponsor is notified by any authorized regulator that the Contest is prohibited by law in its original format. 

AGREEMENT TO OFFICIAL RULES:  Participation in the Contest constitutes entrant’s full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Rules and the decisions of the Contest Entities and judges, which are final and binding.  Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein.  Any entrant may be disqualified at Sponsor’s sole discretion if he/she fails to comply with any of the terms of these official rules.

DESCRIPTION AND CONTEST PERIOD:   The Lone Star Rio Jade Michelada Contest provides an opportunity for eligible participants to submit an original Michelada recipe, in accordance with these Official Rules and the instructions posted at http://www.lonestarbeer.com/ (Click Here for Rules). Entries will be judged, and competitors determined as described in these Official Rules.

The “Entry Period”: 

12:00 AM CST on May 18, 2021 TO 11:59 PM CST on June 1,2021

 

The “Finalist Judging Period”:   

12:00 AM CST on June 2, 2021 to 11:59 PM CST on June 6, 2021

The “Competition”: 

9:00 AM CST on June 17, 2021

HOW TO ENTER: During the Entry Period, the entrant (“Entrant”) must create an original Lone Star Rio Jade Michelada Recipe (“Recipe”), snap an original image of his/her creation (“Image”), share the Image on Instagram, and complete the Official Lone Star Rio Jade Michelada Contest Registration form (“Registration”) on the Website (collectively, the “Entry”). Entrant must fully complete all of the following steps and adhere to all Entry requirements to ensure his/her Entry is submitted into the Contest. Limit one Entry per person. The closing date to submit an Entry is June 1, 2021 at 11:59 PM CST.

    1. Registration 
    • Proceed to the Website (CLICK HERE) to register your Recipe for the Contest. 
    • Once on the Website, enter all the requested information. You will be asked to provide your contact information, the name of your Recipe, and the text for your Recipe. 
    • You will also be asked to upload the Image of your creation.  
    • Be sure to complete the registration step by clicking the “Submit” button. 
      1. Instagram Post 
          • Login to your Instagram account. 
          • Upload your Image and include the two (2) required hashtags #RioJade, #Riochelada and #contest, and mention @Lonestarbeer in your caption. Your Instagram account must be set to public at time of Entry and through June 30, 2021. Entries with a private account setting may not be captured.

          You must be a registered user of Instagram. If you do not have an Instagram account, visit www.instagram.com to register for free. Registration and use of the Instagram platform is subject to the terms and conditions of the platform, and Contest Entities have no responsibility with respect to such registration or use. Contest Entities are not responsible for the functionality of the Instagram platform, including changes that may interfere with the Contest or your ability to participate in the Contest. 

          Note the following Entry requirements:

          • Recipes must be original. An original recipe is the product of one’s own mind and is not a copy or imitation.
          • Recipes must include the following: (a) an original name that complements the recipe; (b) a list of the ingredients in order of use, with exact measurements given; (c) preparation and serving instructions (including specific glassware and garnishes); and (d) the number of servings the recipe yields, if it yields more than one serving.
          • Recipes must include a full recipe of any home-made mixers or garnishes. 
          • Lone Star Rio Jade must be listed as the primary ingredient in your recipe; however, no purchase or consumption of beverage alcohol is required to enter.
          • The total alcohol content of Lone Star Rio Jade must not exceed 12 fluid ounces per serving.
          • Recipe must not contain tobacco, drugs or psychotropic ingredients. 
          • Apart from Lone Star Rio Jade, any other ingredients should be listed without using brand names (i.e. “tomato juice” or “hot sauce”).
          • Recipe names must not be targeted to people under twenty-one (21) or feature anyone’s name who is under twenty-five (25) years old. 
          • Recipe names must not encourage, condone, promote or glamorize under-age, excessive, or irresponsible consumption of alcohol products, or drunk driving.  
          • Recipe names may not include the name of any alcohol beverage retailer’s name. 
          • Images must depict the finished cocktail and cannot include the likeness of any person.

          Any entries attempted through the use of agencies or robotic, repetitive, programmed or similar methods will be void.  Any attempt by a person to use multiple email accounts or identities to gain more entries than permitted by these Official Rules shall result in disqualification at the sole discretion of Sponsor.  In the event of a dispute regarding the identity of the person submitting an entry, the entry will be deemed to be submitted by the “authorized account holder” associated with the email address at the time of entry, who must comply with these Official Rules.  The authorized account holder is defined as the natural person who is assigned an e-mail address by the service provider or other organization that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses. Potential winners may be required to provide evidence (to Sponsor’s satisfaction) that they are the authorized account holder of the e-mail address associated with a winning entry. In the event a dispute regarding the identity of the person who actually submitted an entry cannot be resolved to Sponsor’s satisfaction, the affected entry will be deemed ineligible. Entries and other submitted material become the property of the Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned. Entries that do not include all required information and do not adhere to the foregoing requirements will be considered void and will not be considered in the judging of this Contest. Entries that are deemed by Sponsor in their sole discretion to be immoral, obscene, profane or not in keeping with Sponsor’s image will be disqualified.

          ENTRANT’S REPRESENTATIONS: By submitting an Entry, you represent and warrant that: (a) you are the creator of the Entry; (b) the Entry is wholly original; (c) the Entry does not infringe the intellectual property, privacy or publicity rights or any other legal or moral rights of any third party, including any current or former employer, and does not defame any person; (d) the Entry has not previously been entered in any other contest; (e) the Entry has not been previously been published in any medium; (f) the Entry does not violate any law or regulation; (g) you own all rights to your Entry (including, without limitation, any copyrights contained therein); and (h) you agree to waive any claim for reimbursement for any equipment or materials necessary to submit an Entry regardless of whether or not that entry is selected for any prize. Sponsor’s determination as to whether any entry potentially violates the rights of any third party is final.

          SPONSOR’S RIGHTS TO ENTRIES:  Entries and other submitted material become the property of Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned. By submitting an Entry, you grant Sponsor and their affiliated companies the unconditional and perpetual right and permission to copyright, reproduce, encode, store, copy, transmit, publish, post, broadcast, display, publicly perform, adapt, modify, create derivative works of, exhibit, and otherwise use the Entry (with or without using your name) in any media throughout the world for any purpose, without limitation, and without additional review, compensation, or approval from you or any other party. By submitting an Entry, you forever waive any rights of copyrights, trademark rights, patent rights, privacy rights, and any other legal or moral rights in the entry that may preclude the Contest Entities’ use of the Entry, or require your permission for the Contest Entities to use the Entry. By submitting an Entry, you further agree not to instigate, support, maintain, or authorize any action, claim, or lawsuit against any of the Released Parties (as defined below), or any other person, on the grounds that any use of the Entry, or any further acknowledge that Sponsor is in no way obligated to broadcast, publish or use your entry in any way. Nothing herein shall constitute an employment, joint venture, or partnership relationship between you and Sponsor. In no way are you to be construed as the agent or to be acting as the agent of Sponsor.

          FINALIST JUDGING: During the Finalist Judging Period, all eligible qualifying Entries will be reviewed and judged by a panel of qualified Sponsor judges. The top three (3) highest scoring Entries will be selected as finalists (collectively as “Finalists” or individually as “Finalist”) and will advance to the Competition.  

          For the purposes of judging Entries to determine the Finalists, Sponsor will first score all eligible Entries using the following criteria, based on the perceived qualities of the written Recipes. All eligible Entries will be given a score based on the following criteria: 

          Finalist Judging Period (35 Points) 

          • Presentation (15pts.)
          • Creativity and X-Factor (10pts.) 
          • Originality (5pts.)
          • Appeal of recipe name (5pts.) 

          In the event of a tie, the tie will be broken based on the highest score in the first judging criteria (Presentation), continuing thereafter to each judging criteria in order (Creativity and X-Factor, Originality, Appeal of recipe name), as need to break the tie. Finalists will be notified on or around June 7, 2021 via phone call or email. The decisions of Sponsor and Sponsor’s designated judges are final and binding. From there, each Finalist Recipe will move onto the Competition to compete for First Place, Second Place and Third Place prizes. 

          COMPETITION: The Competition and final judging for First Place, Second Place and Third Place prizes will take place on June 17, 2021. During the Competition, a guest bartender, selected by Sponsor, will recreate each Finalist Recipe for a panel of qualified judges. 

           

          For the purposes of judging each Recipe, the Competition judge panel will score each Finalist Recipe, using the following criteria: 

           

          Competition (35 Points) 

          • Taste (15pts.)
          • Presentation (15pts.) 
          • X-Factor (5pts.)

          In the event of a tie, the tie will be broken based on the highest score in the first judging criteria (Taste), continuing thereafter to each judging criteria in order (Presentation, X-Factor), as need to break the tie. Competition results will be announced live during the Competition. The decisions of Sponsor and Sponsor’s judges panel are final and binding. 

          PRIZES:  Three (3) prizes will be made available in the Contest; however, note that under no circumstances will alcoholic beverages be provided as part of a prize. The First Place Winner will receive a $5,000 cash prize (or gift card equivalent). The Second Place Winner will receive a $1,500 cash prize (or gift card equivalent). The Third Place Winner will receive one (1) $100 gift card and a Lone Star swag bag valued at $50, Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”) $150. The total ARV of all Prizes is $6,700. Gift cards are subject to the terms and conditions associated with their use.   

          All applicable federal, state, and local taxes, fees and surcharges on prizes are the sole responsibility of the prize winners. Where applicable, winners will receive a 1099 tax form for the actual retail value of the prize won. 

          WINNER NOTIFICATION/ADDITIONAL PRIZE DETAILS:  Winners will be notified in person, by e-mail, telephone, mail, or express mail, at sole discretion of Sponsor on or about the dates specified in these Official Rules. Winners will be required to complete, sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility, Liability Release, and, where lawful, a Publicity Release, which must be returned along with a copy of potential winner’s government-issued photo identification as proof of age. All completed documents must be returned to Sponsor by the date specified in winner’s notification letter. Any entrant may be disqualified at Sponsor’s sole discretion if (a) he/she fails to complete and return any required documents within the required time period; (b) his/her winner notification or prize are returned as undeliverable; or (c) he/she fails to comply with any of the terms of these Official Rules. In the event of disqualification, Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to award the prize to the entrant whole eligible entry received the next highest score, subject to all verification and eligibility requirements of these Official Rules. Any prize details not specified above will be determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. Prizes are not transferable or refundable and must be accepted as awarded. Except as otherwise described herein, no prize substitutions may be made except by Sponsor who reserves the right to substitute a prize (or component thereof) with another prize (or component thereof) of equal or greater value if the prize is not available for any reason as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. All taxes (including without limitation federal, state and local taxes) in connection with the prize, and the reporting consequence thereof, are the sole responsibility of the winners. Winners are solely responsible for any expenses, costs or fees associated with acceptance and/or use of prizes not specified herein as being included. 

          GENERAL CONDITIONS:  In the event that the operation, security, or administration of the Contest is impaired in any way for any reason, including, but not limited to fraud, virus, or other technical problem, Sponsor may, in its sole discretion, either: (a) suspend the Contest to address the impairment and then resume the Contest in a manner that best conforms to the spirit of these Official Rules; (b) award prizes according to the Judging Criteria from among the eligible entries received up to the time of the impairment; or (c) to proceed in such a manner as may be deemed fair and equitable by Sponsor in its sole discretion. Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or to be acting in violation of these Official Rules or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Any attempt by any person to undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest may be a violation of criminal and civil law, and, should such an attempt be made, Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. Sponsor’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision. In the event there is a discrepancy or inconsistency between the details contained in any Contest-related materials and the terms of these Official Rules, these Official Rules shall prevail, govern and control land the discrepancy will be resolved in Sponsor’s sole and absolute discretion. Screen shots or any other purported evidence of entry submission will not be deemed receipt of any such entry.

          RELEASE AND LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY: By participating in the Contest, you agree to release and hold harmless the Contest Entities, and alcoholic beverage wholesalers and retailers, together with the employees, officers, directors, and agents of each (aforementioned individuals and organizations collectively, the “Released Parties”) from and against any claim or cause of action arising out of participation in the Contest or receipt or use/misuse of any prize, including, but not limited to:  (a) unauthorized human intervention in the Contest; (b) technical errors related to computers, servers, providers, or telephone or network lines: (c) printing errors or any errors made in the advertisement of the Contest: (d) lost, late, postage-due misdirected, or undeliverable mail; (e) errors in the administration of the Contest or the processing of entries; or (f) injury or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from entrant’s participation in the Contest or receipt of the prize. You further agree that in any cause of action, the Released Parties’ liability will be limited to the cost of entering and participating in the Contest, and in no event shall the Released Parties be liable for attorney’s fees. By participating you hereby waive the right to claim any damages whatsoever, including, but not limited to, punitive, consequential, direct, or indirect damages. Without limiting the foregoing, the Contest, all prizes, and all materials provided on or through any Contest website are provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, either express or implied, including without limitation the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

          INDEMNITY: You agree to indemnify and hold the Released Parties harmless from any and all claims, damages, expenses, costs (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) and liabilities (including settlements), brought or asserted by any third party against any of the Released Parties due to or arising out of your entry, or your conduct in creating an entry or otherwise in connection with this Contest, including but not limited to: claims for trademark infringement; violation of an individual’s right of publicity or right of privacy; or defamation.

          PUBLICITY: By submitting an entry, you grant to Sponsor, and their affiliated companies, the right, except where prohibited by law, to use your name, likeness, picture, address (city and state), voice, biographical information, entry and written or oral statements, for advertising and promotional purposes in promoting or publicizing Sponsor, their affiliated companies, and the products or services of each, in any and all media without limitation as to time or territory, without compensations unless required by law. You shall have no right of approval, no claim to compensation, and no claim (including, without limitation, claims based on invasion of privacy, defamation, or right of publicity) arising out of any use, blurring, alteration, or use in composite form of your name, picture, likeness address (city and state), biographical information, or entry.

          GOVERNING LAW: Except where prohibited, each Entrant agrees that any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of, or connected with, the Contest or any prize awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by the appropriate court located in the State of Texas.  All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, entrant’s rights and obligations, or the rights and obligations of Sponsor in connection with the Contest, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of Texas, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules (whether of the State of Texas or any other jurisdiction), which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the State of Texas.

          WINNERS’ LIST: To receive the winners' information (name, city, and state), mail a self-addressed stamped envelope to be received by July 30, 2021 to: Lone Star Rio Jade Michelada Contest Winner List, 110 E Houston Street 3rd Floor, San Antonio, TX 78205.
